festivals, fairs, and other venues
Jeff has performed at festivals, fairs, active adult retirement communities, assisted living communities and many other venues throughout the years. His performances can be geared to audiences of all ages on the main or side stages or they can be geared specifically for children. The children's performances are very participatory and include music, dance, as well as an optional "hands on" activity (a "One String Pork-n-Bean" guitar workshop.) Jeff's performances consist of traditional Appalachian music and include sing-a-longs, a "sit-down square dance", and demonstrations on how to build some of the instruments he plays (which has shown to really hold the audiences' attention.)
As mentioned, Jeff also offers workshop(s) in which the audience can make a, "One String Pork-n-Bean Guitar" or "How to play the Jaw Harp" with Jeff following his performance (or according to your preferred schedule.) These instruments add a great conversation piece to the day. Many children will then paint or decorate their new "guitar" at a paint booth or the like at the festival or fair to "jazz" it up.
