Festival Performances:
Jeff has performed at numerous festivals
throughout the years. His performances can be geared to audiences of
all ages on the main or side stages or they can be geared specifically
for children. Performances consist of traditional Appalachian music and
include sing-a-longs, a "sit down square dance," and demonstrations on
how to build some of the instruments Jeff plays (which has shown to
really hold the audiences' attention.) The performances are
participatory, engaging, educational, and most of all, a lot of fun!
Workshops:
Jeff offers two "optional" workshops:
"How to Make a One-String Pork-n-Bean Guitar" - Workshop includes all materials necessary to build this instrument. These instruments add a great conversation piece to the day. Many children will then paint or decorate their new "guitar" at a paint booth or the like at the festival to "jazz" it up. But make no mistake...this workshop has proven to be a big hit with all ages!
"How to Play the Jaw Harp" - Workshop participants learn how to play the jaw harp with Jeff and they are provided with take-home instructions.
These workshops are suitable for all ages and are fun for the whole family!
